Heavenly Body of the Week: Alderaan

"I felt a great disturbance in the Force. As if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened." - Ben "Obi-Wan" Kenobi

*************

In two days from this posting, it will be May 4th, and as any good Star Wars fan knows, that is National (or is it International?) Star Wars Day. So, with that in mind, I give you this latest Heavenly Body of the week, the fateful planet of Alderaan. May she always be fondly remembered, and May the Fourth be with you.

That's it gang. See ya 'round the web.

  1. I saw Star Wars in the theatre in the balcony no less! Poor people of Alderaan-not a good way to go really even if it was sudden. I did not know that May 4th was a big day for Star Wars fans but i was one of the few who was underwhelemed by the film when it first came out(I know for shame!) . I got a better appreciation for it later on. I think I was annoyed by all the hoopla. I thought Darth Vader was pretty evil back then. He chnaged when they finally showed his face in the last movie(not the rehash prequals but Jedi) and I found out it was Uncle Fester. I also giggled when Darth played by Hayden, can't act, Christiansen screamed "No" or whatever, when he found out Queen Armadillo died.

  2. Underwhelmed!? That's blasphemy, lady! Dems fightin' words. Ha! I know they were gong for a whole Frankenstein thing with Vader yelling "No!" but instead of it coming out dark and Germanic, it just came off as silly. Oh, and there will be a Star Wars Day post coming on Sunday.

May the 4th be with you. See ya 'round the web.

  3. I don't understand the backlash to the newer Star Wars films. What did people expect? Everyone had their own ideas about how the movies should go, I guess, but come on. W almost had to declare a national emergency due to nerd riots.
