April Showers Bring The Blogging From A to Z April Challenge

April showers bring may flowers. At least that's how the saying goes. I could have just as easily titled this post, April Fools, or maybe even April is the cruellest month, if I happened to have been in a T.S. Eliot kinda mood when I typed this, but no, we are going with April showers. But why, you may ask, oh why oh why the hell does any of this even matter. Well, good question. Glad ya asked. You see, today is the first day of the Blogging From A to Z April Challenge, or, as I like to call it, the BFAtZAC. But what exactly is the BFAtZAC, anyway? Another good question. Here's your answer. It is a month long blogathon where each blogger posts something every day, except Sundays (which conveniently adds up to 26 days), and doing so in alphabetical order. A on the first, B on the second, C on the third...well, you get the idea. That's what it's about. For a deeper understanding of the whole kit 'n' kaboodle, why not check out the official A to Z page?

So, here we are on April 1st, and thus, here we are at the letter A, and thus, here we are at the introduction of the aforementioned A to Z Challenge. Now granted, this post is more of a what-the-hell-ya-doing kinda thing, than a post about the letter Aa. Yes, I am sticking to the rules of the game, as this is a post on the A to Z Challenge, and that does start with the letter A, but there will be more tighter posts coming over the next month. Like for instance, tomorrow will see a post on some of the best Bobby's the world has ever known. Yeah, that's right, the best Bobby's. Not Robert's or Bob's, but Bobby's. After that...well, after that you are just going to have to wait and see, but trust me, it's a-gonna be worth it.

Until then, here are a few of my favourite things that begin with the letter A - in no particular order.  Admiral Ackbar, Adam Ant, Aquaman, Audrey Hepburn, The Avengers, aardvarks, Denis Leary's song Asshole, Alderaan by moonlight, apes, apples, Annie Hall, Ant-Man (Pym or Lang), Abbie Hoffman, Asia (the continent, not the band), the word apropos, the book Animal Farm, Astonishing X-Men by Joss Whedon, ALF, Animal from the Muppets, Allen Ginsberg, Action Comics #1, Antimatter, my lovely wife Amy, Azerbaijan, Ace Frehley, Anson Williams as Potsie Weber (but only from the first two or three seasons), acid flashbacks, arrogance, Amazonian superheroes, the comicbook Afterlife with Archie (seriously, it is quite fantastic, and you must really check it out), artichokes, traffic lights but only when they are amber (that's an obscure Monty Python joke by the by), bygone movie star Ann Dvorak, Alfalfa (the Little Rascal, not the plant), Annie Oakley, the Def Lepard song Armageddon It, the aorta, Alabama Shakes, aphids, and the insult asshat. There are more, but we're leave it there.

So, that's it for my oh so rambling blah blah introductory post for the Blogging From A to Z April Challenge, or the BFAtZAC. While we're on the subject of alphabets, why not get yourself on over to My Pinterest site, where coincidentally enough, all my pins are in the appropriate alphabetical order. Yeah, I'm a dork, but I digress. I'll see you tomorrow with a look at the 10 best Bobbys, and if you ever wish to know more on the challenge, or just check out all the other bloggers involved in the fun. I will include the below banner on all twenty-six of my posts this month. All ya have to do is click on the banner and head on over to the main BFAtZAC blog. The BFAtZAC hub, if you will. And to all you Star Trek fans out there (the Trekkies and the Trekkers both) don't forget to vote in the Star Trek Captain's Poll over near the top of the right-hand sidebar. The poll will be up all month, so vote vote vote - and tell all your friends. That's it gang. See ya 'round the web.

  3. I'm glad the list was in no particular order because otherwise your wife would be at the top of the list, right? :)

  4. Ha! I was going to place her last, as a sort of the big bang at the end of a fireworks display, or like how some actors get billed at the end as a special star billing, a la Tom Bosley on Happy Days, but instead decided to blend the missus into the middle. She's not big on being singled out.

Thanx for stopping by. See ya 'round the web.

  6. Hey, thanx for stopping by Glenda. Always good to see some traffic 'round these parts. Oh, and don't forget, A is also for anything, so it all fits in today. See ya on the B-side. See what I did there?

  9. Thanx to all my compatriot AtoZer's that have stopped by so far. I've been blogging for over a decade now (as of last week, but more of that later in the month) but this is my first year doing the challenge. I think I may be getting what one would call a warm fuzzy feeling with all these welcoming salutations. Thanx again.

Oh, and as for Audrey and The Avengers being in the same post - I do a series of posts (okay, I've only done one so far, but more are coming) where I take a big modern day movie and recast it in different genres with classic film stars. Anyway, an upcoming one (probably in July or so) will involve The Avengers being made as a 1950's rom-com with Miss Hepburn as Janet Van Dyne, aka The Wasp.

Anyhoo, that's it for my rambling (for now). see ya 'round the web.
